’ ನಂಗ್ಬುದ್ದಿ ತಿಳಿದ್ಮ್ಯಾಗ್ಲ್ನಿಂದ ಇವತ್ನ್ವರ್ಗೆ.’...

ಬಾಲ್ಯದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಭಾತ್ಪೇರಿ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ  ನಮಗೆ ಮುದಕೊಟ್ಟ ಸಂದರ್ಭ  ! ೧೯೪೪ ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ನಾನು ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮ ಚಂದ್ರ, ’ಪ್ರಭಾತ್ ಪೇರಿ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ’ಯನ್ನು ಅತಿ ಹತ್ತಿರದಿಂದ ನೋಡಿದ ಪುಣ್ಯವಂತರು. ಆಗ ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ, ದೇಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಪಾರಪ್ರೇಮ ಜಾಗೃತವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲವದು. ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ನ್ಯಾಯಯುತವಾದ ಕೆಲಸಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವ ಆದಾಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಆಸೆಪಡದೆ ಜೀವನ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲ. ಅವರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಲ್ಪತೃಪ್ತರು. ತಮಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿ ಯಾವ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನೂ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ ಶೇಖರಿಸದೆ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ-ಜೀವನಾಪೇಕ್ಷಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ನನಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾಪಕವಿದ್ದಂತೆ, ನನ್ನ ಬಾಲ್ಯದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯದಿನದಂದು, ಮತ್ತು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯದಿನದಂದು,  ’ಮಹಾತ್ಮಾ ಗಾಂಧೀಕಿ ಜೈ’, ’ಭಾರತ್ ಮಾತಾಕಿ ಜೈ’ ಎನ್ನುವ ಕೂಗಿನಿಂದ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಗಿನ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ’ಪ್ರಭಾತ್ಪೇರಿ’  ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕಾತುರದಿಂದ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಸಿದ್ದರಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು.  ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪಲ್ಲಕ್ಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರನಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ್ದ, ಬಾಲಗಂಗಾಧರ್ ತಿಲಕ್, ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಗೋಖಲೆ,  ಬಾಬು ರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್, ಮತ್ತು ಜವಹರ್ ಲಾಲ್  ನೆಹರೂ ರವರ ಚಿತ್ರಪಟಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಅವಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾರಹಾಕ...

Bombay's one of the Great Yoga teachers during 1950s to 1980s ! ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಯೋಗಾಚಾರ್ಯ, ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ  ಪಂಡಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದ  ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗ ಮಹಾದೇವ ಭಟ್  , 'ಸಿ. ಎಂ. ಭಟ್,' ಎಂದೇ  ತಮ್ಮ ಗೆಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ  ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಚಿರ ಪರಿಚಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.   ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗ  ಮಹದೇವ್ ಭಟ್ಟರು, ಗುಂಡಾ ಭಟ್ಟರ ೬ ಜನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ಗಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳು : ೧. ಪುರುಷೋತ್ತಮ್  ಜೋಯಿಸ್, ೨. ಮಹಾದೇವ್ ಜೋಯಿಸ್, ೩. ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ಜೋಯಿಸ್,  ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳು : ೧. ಶಾರದಮ್ಮ, ೨. ಮೀನಾಕ್ಷಮ್ಮ ೩. ರತ್ನಮ್ಮ.   ಗುಂಡಾ ಭಟ್ಟರು ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗ ಮತ್ತು ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೌರೋಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ವೃತ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಹಾಗೂ ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಂಡ ಪಂಡಿತರು.  ಮಹಾದೇವ ಜೋಯಿಸ್ ರವರಿಗೆ  ಮಹದೇವ್ ಭಟ್ಟರೆಂದು ಹೆಸರು ಬರಲು ಕಾರಣ;    ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಕತೆಯಿದೆ. ಮಹಾದೇವ ಜೋಯಿಸ್ ತಮ್ಮ ೧೨ ನೆಯ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಕಲಿಯಲು ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಪಾಠಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಂಡಿತ್ಯ ಪಡೆದ ತರುವಾಯ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ರಾಜಮನೆತನದ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ವಿದ್ಯಾಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಾ...

ತಾಯಿಯಂತೆ ಮಗಳು ನೂಲಿನಂತೆ ಸೀರೆ ! ಇದು ಯುಗಯುಗಗಳಿಂದ ರೂಢಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಾತು. ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಮುದ್ದು ಗೌರಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಸಾಬೀತು ಪಡಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರುವಂತೆ ಭಾಸವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದೇನೋ ಅತ್ತೆ-ಸೊಸೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ತಾಯಿ ಮಗಳಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲವೇನೋ, ಎನ್ನುವಂತೆ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ತಾಯಿ ಮಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರ ಅದೇನು ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯತೆ, ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆ, ತನ್ನ ಮಗಳು ಏನೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿದರು ಅದನ್ನು ಸೀರೆಗೆ ಒರೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವಳ ಪರವಹಿಸುವ ತಾಯಿ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅಮ್ಮನನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಕ್ಕಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಮಾತಾಡುವ ಮಗಳು ವಿಶ್ವದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಿಕ್ಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ತಂದೆ ಮಗನ ಮಾತೇ ಬೇರೆ. ಮತ್ತೆ ತಂದೆ ಮಗಳ ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯತೆ ಸರ್ವಮಾನ್ಯ. ಇನ್ನು ಮಗಳೋ ತಾಯಿಮನೆ ಗಂಡನಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಸೆಯುವ ಒಂದು ಭದ್ರವಾದ ಕೊಂಡಿ ! ಅವಳಿರುವ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವೈಮನಸ್ಯತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಸೌಹಾರ್ದ, ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆಗಳು ವಿಪುಲವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಗಳ ತಾಣವಾಗಿ ಮೆರೆಯುತ್ತವೆ. ಇದು ಸರ್ವೇ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾದ ಮಾತು ! ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ಮುದ್ದು ಗೌರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಅಮ್ಮ ಹರ್ಷರ ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ತೆಗೆದ ಫೋಟೋ ! Shivappanayaka's palace is the great repository of valuable artefacts ! The 17th century king, Shivappa Nayaka of the Keladi Nayaka dynasty, is located in Shivamogga city (formerly known as Shimoga), the district headquarters of the Shivamogga district in the Karnataka state, India.
